Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre was a ten year old girl living with her uncle’s family. The bad thing about her life was that she started facing many challenges and cruelty from the very childhood. No one was her own in her uncle’s family. Everyone criticized her, bullied her including her aunt. The only hope for her was the nursemaid Bessie, telling her stories and singing beautiful songs to her. She never got love that she deserved from any of the family member except her maid. Later for her good and by her good fortune, she was sent away from that cruelty but got into a newer world of cruelty. She was sent to Lowood Institution, a charity school, where everyone including Jane were horribly treated. She met two girls there, Ms. Temple and Helen Burns. The good thing about Jane was that she tried to learn something from everyone she met and tried her best to develop her personality. Later due to their poor conditions, and due to typhus epidemic, many students died including Helen Burns. Later Jane started moving forward in her life accepting all terrible situations, and after all hard work,  she became successful teacher after 6 years. She worked as a teacher for 2 years in Lowood and then she became a governess for a ten year old girl at Thornfield. Now is her later life going to be that simple? No, not really. Entering into Thornfield indicated entering to another room, that would be full of challenges. Now, what do you think guys? Will she be able to survive in this phase of life? Or will she be crushed by the thorns that are going to come in her life?

He was no one but Rochester, the owner of Thornfield and her employer. Later Jane encounters some uneven happening in Thornfield. As their marriage was going to take place, a strange man arrived and he testified that Rochester is already married with Bertha Antoinetta Mason. And that strange man was Bertha’s brother. And then Rochester also accepted the fact that he got married to Bertha but he claimed that she was mad and she lived on the third floor of Thornfield. Guys, Do you remember that fire at Thornfied and those strange voices coming? It was all because of Bertha only. Yes, Jane again got shattered. The man she loved was already married with a mad woman. Knowing all these truths about Rochester, she denied to marry and fleed from Thornfield.

What next? She became penniless and hungry and was forced by the life to beg for food. Her life really became miserable. But don’t get disheartened. It was not going to be that bad. She met three siblings who lived in manor. Their name were Mary, Diana and St. John. Then St. John found her a job in a charity school as a teacher. And now when all this good started happening, another shocking news came. Following her fortune, to her surprise, her uncle left her with 20,000 pounds. And she also discovered that those three siblings were her cousins. Knowing this, she immediately decided to share her inheritance with all of them equally.

Later in the novel, Jane tried to get in contact with Rochester and went to Thornfield. But their she found that Thornfield had been burned to ashes by Bertha and she herself also died in that fire. Rochester tried to save his servants from that fire. Though he was successful in saving them but lost his eyesight and one of his hands. Jane traveled to his new residence and both agreed to build a new relationship. At the end Jane was seen writing, that she was blessed with the son and Rochester regained sight for his one eye and they started living happily everafter.

And here comes the end of the story, the happy ending. Though Jane had to go to so much of sufferings but at the end, she is with her love and she is happy. She made all her sufferings her strengths and at the end she got everything she might have ever desired for. So it is the big lesson for all of us. We must learn from our sufferings instead of crying over it.
